January 2024 Employee Spotlight

Zach Innerst

⭐EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT, JANUARY 2024⭐

McGrew Equipment’s January Employee Spotlight shines on Zach Innerst, General Manager.

Growing up on a farm, Zach has been around equipment his entire life, but he’s been working at McGrew for 16 years. He found a job listing for a Lot Coordinator in the newspaper and showed up to McGrew in his International Harvester Shirt because he knew that would get him hired. His plan worked because Zach now oversees the day-to-day operation at McGrew Equipment as their General Manager. On the rare occasion that Zach is not in the McGrew yard, he enjoys spending time with his family and smoking & grilling food. Zach is most looking forward to his trip to North Carolina in June.

When asked who he considers a mentor, Zach said that his parents taught him his work ethic, but Greg McGrew & Gary Knisley taught him the ins and outs of the equipment & auction business. The first thing you learn is that auctions are fast-paced, which is the thing that Zach likes the most. That and that no day is ever the same. So, what’s the one thing that his job at McGrew Equipment has taught him: hard work pays off. Hard work does pay off and that’s why we are proud to shine a spotlight on Zach this month. Thank you for all the hard work, long hours, and late nights you put in to help make McGrew a success!

After working in education for 15 years, Jessica’s search for a change of pace brought her to McGrew a little over a year ago. Here at McGrew, Jessica works with customers to gather information about various commodities. October Employee Spotlight

Donnie Bricker

⭐EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT, OCTOBER 2023⭐

This month’s employee spotlight is Donnie Bricker, one of McGrew Equipment’s Lot Coordinators. As a Lot Coordinator, Don is responsible for anything from unloading and loading equipment to lining the auction rows. In addition to helping with equipment, Don helps around McGrew where he is needed, whether delivering parts or working in the shop. He’s been with McGrew for 3 years, but before coming to work with us, he served in the Marine Corps as an Infantryman and Illustrator. However, Don has spent most of his 30-year career driving semi-trucks that haul tanks, helicopters, and computer presses.

Don enjoys spending time with his family and going to his cabin. He enjoys hunting, weaponry, throwing knives, and doing martial arts. McGrew Equipment’s Employee Spotlight shines on Jaden Knisley for the month of September. Jaden’s father, Gary, is the Vice President of McGrew, so Jaden has been around the auction team since he was about 8 years old and started working here during a work-study class in high school where he eventually joined the team full-time immediately after graduation.

In Jaden’s spare time, he enjoys going to the gym, golfing, going to concerts, and hanging out with friends. Something some coworkers might find surprising is he has 8 tattoos! His favorite part about the job is the environment with his coworkers. Everyone gets along very well and has fun at the right times!

Jaden grew up with the McGrew Equipment family and we are grateful to have him as part of our team now. His hard work and dedication are part of what makes McGrew Equipment successful, and that is why we are proud to spotlight him this month. Thank you for everything you do!

August Employee Spotlight

Conrad Bullard

⭐EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT, AUGUST 2023⭐

McGrew’s Employee Spotlight for the month of August shines on Conrad Bullard, our Class A CDL Driver. Conrad is responsible for delivering and picking up equipment for our auctions. This includes trip routing, loading & unloading equipment, load securement, and scheduling the trucks and trailers for maintenance. Trucking is among the most heavily regulated industries, so staying up to date with changing regulations is no easy task. Conrad has been in the industry for about 40 years and got started thanks to his father, who was also a truck driver!

After high school, Conrad joined the United States Air Force and served as a heavy equipment operator. He then entered the towing industry and operated 1-ton trucks for about 16 years. He brought his talents to McGrew in December of 2019. In his spare time, you can find him riding motorcycles and spending time with his wife, Sheri. They own property on the Potomac River, where they enjoy boating and riding side by sides. Trucking and motorcycle riding have taken Conrad to 47 of the 48 contiguous United States (California being the exception). His favorite memory is a recent trip to Washington and Oregon and the scenery he got to see.

Conrad’s biggest mentors in his career are the young entrepreneurs he encounters because they remind him of where he came from and everything he has accomplished. His favorite part about the job is fitting 10 gallons of equipment in a 5-gallon bucket. Conrad is a master of “Trucker Jenga”—he enjoys the challenge of seeing how much he can safely fit on a trailer.

We are thankful for Conrad’s hard work and expertise!

July Employee Spotlight

Justin Laucks

⭐ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT, JULY 2023 ⭐

Our July Employee Spotlight shines on our Yard Manager, Justin Laucks. He directs the flow of customers and equipment in and out of the yard and supervises the loading of trucks. He started in the heavy equipment industry with us two and a half years ago. His brother, Andrew, was Yard Manager at the time and encouraged him to join the crew.

Justin enjoys spending time with his daughter and fiancé, taking hikes, and exploring nature. In his limited spare time, he enjoys gardening, wood carving, and playing the guitar and ukulele. Folks are surprised to learn that he had no equipment experience before starting with McGrew, and now he can load equipment with the best of ’em! His favorite memories are the cross-country camping trips he and Andrew took as children.

Justin cites Andrew as a mentor for showing him the ropes and providing encouragement in his early days with McGrew. He enjoys learning tips and tricks from customers and coworkers with more experience in the equipment industry. Working at McGrew has taught him how to troubleshoot equipment, overcome challenges, and persevere through adversity. He enjoys the sense of satisfaction from a job well done.

Justin is a crucial part in keeping our auctions successful and organized, and we’re proud to shine a spotlight on him for the month of July!
